The project consisted of the construction of an 11.2m high reinforced concrete retaining wall at Emang Mine in the Northern Cape. The retaining wall forms part of a larger ramp to a crusher on the Emang Manganese Mine. The construction of the retaining wall included multiple activities which contained the following:
- Excavation and stockpiling of material to a depth of 3.5m for the foundations
- Construction of the 23m x 10m x1m foundation.
- Construction of the reinforced concrete walls and buttresses, including weepholes in the walls.
- Construction of subsoil and fin drains
- Construction of soil stabilisation using geotextiles
