Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality
Roossenekal is a residential town, and all effluent can be classified as domestic (emanating from kitchens and bathrooms (grey water) and from water closets (WC’s)).
All the effluent is collected in a water borne sewerage system which flows to the wastewater treatment works. The capacity of the existing works is 1 650 m³/day. The estimated loading at present is ± 1350m³/day. The works as it is, is running at near full capacity and further expansion should be investigated.
The wastewater has been monitored and tested over the last number of years and shows the characteristics of typical domestic sewage.
